During the monsoon season (July–September), the falls are at their most spectacular, with thunderous volumes of water creating mist clouds visible from miles away. A viewing platform and a steep stairway of 1,400 steps offer different vantage points. The Linganamakki dam upstream regulates water flow, so the falls are most impressive when the dam's gates are open.
